Case study

How Google and Meta Ads delivered 1,074% ROAS for a fashion store

We ran Google Ads and Meta Ads for an online fashion store with stable sales but a ROAS below expectations. The campaigns reached a ROAS of 1,074%: every €1 spent on ads returned €10.74 in revenue, and sales came to about €34,000 (PLN 150,000).

The client and the goal

The client is an online fashion store. We keep the brand anonymous, and the sales figure in this case study was reported in PLN, so we show both currencies.

The store had stable sales, but its ROAS was below expectations. The goal was to increase sales and improve campaign efficiency, so that every unit of currency spent on ads brought back the highest possible return.

The challenge: profitability in online fashion

Fashion ecommerce is a market with huge competition. Shoppers often compare prices and look for deals.

On top of that, the store's margin did not allow aggressive budget scaling. When margin is limited, each extra unit of ad spend has to earn more than it costs, so ROAS, not traffic volume, was the number that mattered. Growth had to come from better targeting and better use of the budget, not from simply spending more.

What we did

We optimised the Google Ads and Meta Ads campaigns together. Four workstreams carried the work.

  1. Segmentation of product campaigns

We split the campaigns by the product categories with the highest conversion. It is a core step in any Google Ads for ecommerce set-up.

  2. Dynamic retargeting

We reached users who had viewed products but had not bought, using dynamic remarketing.

  3. A/B tests on visuals and copy in Meta Ads

We tested different graphics and ad copy in Meta Ads to find the messages that worked best.

  4. Google Shopping and precise targeting

We used Google Shopping and tighter targeting to increase the store's visibility in search.

Results

What drove the results

ROAS. A ROAS of 1,074% means every €1 spent on advertising returned €10.74 in revenue. In the original currency, every PLN 1 returned PLN 10.74.

Sales. The sales of about €34,000 (PLN 150,000) came from budget optimisation and precise targeting.

One idea behind all four steps. Spend where the return is highest. Segmentation and Google Shopping put budget behind the products and searches that convert best, while retargeting and the Meta Ads tests worked on people who had already shown interest.
