CRO audit that doesn't guess: find what blocks your conversions

A CRO audit is an analysis that shows what stops visitors from converting on your website and how to fix it. We work from heatmaps, session recordings, Google Analytics and your sales data, and you get a prioritised list of recommendations and what to test first.

Why traffic alone is not enough

Do not tune your campaigns if the website does not work. A good campaign sending visitors to a weak page means wasted budget. High traffic does not always mean sales. The problem can sit in a form, a product page, the checkout or the way the offer is presented.

Conversion rate optimisation (CRO) is the process of improving how well a website achieves its conversions. A drop in conversion does not point to its own cause. So instead of "we think", we run an audit that shows what blocks conversion and how to fix it. We work on data and we do not guess.

What the CRO audit covers

Four areas, looked at together.

User behaviour analysis

What people do on your site, where they stop and where they drop out.

Funnel and conversion

Whether the path leads to the goal, and what blocks it.

UX and copy

Whether the site is intuitive and whether the message speaks the language of your audience.

Technology and performance

How the site works, how fast it loads and how it behaves on mobile.

How a CRO audit works

We work on data. We do not guess. The audit runs in five stages.

  1. We collect data

Heatmaps, session recordings, Google Analytics and your sales data.

  2. We analyse the funnel

Where users drop off, and what holds them back.

  3. We check UX and copy

Whether the user knows what to do, whether the calls to action are visible and whether the text sells.

  4. We assess the technology

Speed, errors, mobile versions and forms.

  5. Report and priorities

A list of recommendations and a clear view of what to test first.

How we use analytics data for CRO

Analytics shows where to look. We then use it to:

  • analyse user paths
  • check abandonment of forms and purchase stages
  • compare results by traffic source and device
  • identify subpages with low effectiveness
  • form hypotheses for changes to UX and messaging
  • verify the effect of the changes that go live

Numbers tell you where, not why

A drop in conversion rate shows that something is wrong, but not what. That is why we combine quantitative data with qualitative analysis and tests. Analytics points to the pages and steps to examine. Heatmaps and session recordings help show what users actually do there. Tests then check whether a change helps.

CRO conclusions are only as good as the data behind them. Events counted twice, missing transaction values or tracking broken by a site update can distort the picture. This is why CRO work goes hand in hand with web analytics and a reliable GA4 and Google Tag Manager implementation.

Where a CRO audit works

  • Campaign landing pages that aim for leads, sales or sign-ups.
  • Online shops: the basket, the checkout and the product page.
  • Service pages.
  • Forms, calculators and configurators.

Fix the page, then scale the campaigns

We treat advertising, analytics, UX, SEO and CRO as one system. Once the page converts, your Google Ads and Meta Ads can work harder, and SEO and UX support the same goal: turning clicks into sales.

What you get from the audit

  • A report on user behaviour, the funnel, UX and copy, and technology.
  • A list of concrete recommendations.
  • Priorities: a clear view of what to test first.
  • Hypotheses for changes to UX and messaging.
  • A way to verify the effect of every change you make.

Why Double Digital

It is not enough for customers to see you. They have to choose you.

  • A data-based approach: decisions rest on analysis, not intuition.
  • Transparency: reports that make sense, and results that give you an edge.
  • Flexibility: actions fit your goals, not the other way round.
  • Only proven solutions: strategies that really work.
